The World Ploughing Contest Slovenia 2009 is closed
The Ceremonial Closing of the 56th World Ploughing Contest Slovenia 2009 was held in Tešanovci (Slovenia) on Saturday 5 September. As a guest of honor, the Prime Minister of Slovenia Borut Pahor spoke to ploughmen, their team mates and visitors. He congratulated to winners as well as to organizers of WPC 2009.
Second Day of Ploughing Contest – Grassland, 5 September
On 5 September, around 20,000 visitors were observing the best ploughmen in the world, as they were striving to win the title “world ploughing champion”. This took place on the fields of Tešanovci in Slovenia, as well as many interesting accompanying events such as Exhibition of agricultural machinery, traditional crafts, wine and cuisine, old tractors, etc.
First Day of Ploughing Contest – Stubble, 4 September
First day of the Ploughing Contest was the most happy for Wernder Eder from Austira (conventional plough) and Roel Cuyvers from Belgium (reversible plough).
56th World Ploughing Contest Slovenia 2009 has begun
On Thursday 3 September afternoon the long waited World Ploughing Contest Slovenia 2009 has begun. The Ceremonial opening was held in Tešanovci where also Dr Milan Pogačnik Minister of Agruiculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia was present.
